The duo of Conor MacParland and Kristian Woods are at the forefront of house music in Northern Ireland. Having first teamed up musically as promoters of their renowned 'Schmutz' parties in Belfast, the twosome invited house and techno heavyweights Midland, Hunee, Leon Vynehall, John Talabot and Gerd to Belfast, to name literally just a few. The Schmutz star rose rapidly in Belfast as Conor and Kristian held down a variety of residencies across the city's premier electronic venues, Shine, Stiff Kitten and Thompsons Garage, delivering their no nonsense, and straight to the point format of DJ'ing, incorporating disco, house and techno.
Honing their output in the studio, Schmutz released their first twelve inch e.p on Gerd's European powerhouse 4LUX label, the raw analogue dominated ‘Slaned’ e.p garnering support from the likes of Deetron, Boddika & Ben Westbeech, as well as earning Radio 1 play from Heidi. Gerd discovered the duo by receiving a demo cd on a recent dj trip to Belfast.
As the two continue to define their unique style of electronic house and techno, forthcoming releases on Berlin-based Dirt Crew Recordings, and local house crew Extended Play will no doubt contribute further to their progression.
